    Hello,
My name is Ron Schulz I am a proud owner of a Tricart.
My Tricart was given to me by a friend of mine, yep, free, and it is in mint condition as far as being complete and all. However, it has sat for nearly 20 years and the bearings had rusted in the engine. I have a Rockwell JLO L230 with Salsbury 500 torque converter. I tore the motor down to find the problem. I need rod bearings on both ends (crank and piston) and crank bearings (case), a gasket kit to put it back together. If anyone has a complete crank assembly that would be cool. I would also be willing to replace the 2 cycle with a 4 cycle but I don't know what to shop for as far as hp and compatibility, and if I can use my 7000 max. rpm tapered clutch? If anyone can help me I would be able to get this beast running, as I had never driven it!
    Nice to meet you all!
    Thanks,
    Ron

rupp or scorpion 440 in a Tricart?

Does anybody know if a Rupp or Scorpian 440 will fit in my Tricart? It had a JLO L230 in it, but its shot! I found a deal for 2 rupp and 1 scorpian all running
snow mobiles for $500 but I don't know if they would make an easy swap but they are 2 cycle but I dont know if the 440's have the tapered shaft to fit my old torque converter.
          Thanks,
          Ron

You could put a twin in it, but it would take some modifications.

              Hi Joe,
Do you know what kind of mods I would have to do? I have complete access to a machine shop, and I can fab about anything, It seems easier to put a 4 cycle in but where would I get a straight shaft torque converter to match the 4 stroker and drives?
              thanks for you help!!!

You would have to change the motor mount and make some body mods. Since yours in mint condition. I wouldn't want to hack up the body. I would try and find a 230 to put back in it, or a 2si 215.
