  • Gotcha lives again!

Well a little gas in the carb and about 20 pulls and i got the gotcha running again. No smoke or noises and idles out smooth. Had to put a new brake line on and bleed the brakes and we were off. Drives good and even with the wrong clutch it seems to have good power. I will update some new pictures of her in action. Question though should i have a resevoir for the brake master cylinders? It just has two lines the run up to the upper part of the body?

You probably would want to refer that question to Amphiman1. Congrats on getting it going again!

Hey is there anyone out west that has a Gotcha that I could use to make a mold? Or a body that needs repair that I can fix and them use it to make a mold?

I think I have a belt drive system worked out for it's drive.

Congrats on the machine. You will have to post up some pictures.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

Hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like the Gotcha doesn't have an internal frame, just everything bolted to teh body tub!? Could someone enlighten me, please? Also, what's steering like on this rig? I'm guessing a rather rough ride with hard molded seats. Top speed in a "normal" non-crazy customized engine version??? Truly amphibious, and if so how does it handle in the water?? Max tire size squeezalbe under the tub rim??

Looking at the one on eBay right now and wondering just what I could be getting myself into. LOL.

No Frame only plates bolted to body. Plenty of room for larger tires. Original 41 chain so you need to upgrade the axle sprockets to run larger tires. plenty of room for a big two stroke, not much for a v twin. 15hp Kohler Command single would be a nice fit. Ride relative to the tire used. Good swimmer with chevrons.

Are you sure! I have seen numerous ones with out one. They all have the tubes going up with no reservoir.
