I always wanted one of these beauties. So I bought a non running Amphicat yesterday, got it running drove up and down the street worked great.( louder than hell has an exhaust leak)It seemed to start slipping the more I drove it, now I have to rev it really high to get it to move.It seems like the clutches are slipping. I checked the trans level and it's full( maybe I need to put new fluid in ) . I have the manual that came with the Amphicat from Richards relics and it doesn't seem to be an adjustment I don't know. The trans is the six plunger with the foot lever to push down for reverse. Does it sound like I cooked the clutches? I've never driven one of these and it's a blast. Thanks for any advice.

Ok, that makes sense a loose belt. I checked the belt and it does seem to be a little too loose and maybe a little glazed.
I read somewhere in this forum to adjust the belt 1 1/2 to 2 inches from the engine drive shaft when pulled tight. Is this true for this Amphicat? Also the belt looks different from the one I saw in the manual it doesn't have ribs on the inside. Do you move the motor to adjust tension? I'll try adjusting the belt or putting on a new one before I tackle the clutches. Where's the best parts source for this(belt, spark plug Etc.) Thanks for your help.
