  • just aquired a terra tiger on trade

S I have aterra tiger now ha a 340 in it and it rips good just need to fix brakes on it and change the steering wheel it has. 1 Question I have is when i turn the wheel too far it stops is that how the handle bars worked too or did they make it turn I am thinking the steering rods up front need adjusted if anyone had a pic of that it would be great thanks

Tiller has clutch control rods attached similar to tee. That releases clutches when turned a little and when fully turned applies brake to make it turn sharply. Sounds like clutches are slipping if turned fully and it does turn. Here's how to adjust linkage. Any questions you can call or email us. We have a lot of information, books, manuals and parts for them.

To start: You need to loosen 4 bolts holding steering lever and steering brake pad bracket. You also need to loosen top adjusting nuts on rods going to tiller. Then adjust - move steering bracket so lever is vertical. Then you set brake pad to 1/16th clearance and tighten all bolts securely. May sure lever is still vertical! Do other side and then adjust top rods on tiller for equal travel.

Make sure it has 2 1"flat washers behind big spring on cone clutches also! If it only has one, you can get 1'' spilt washer and install without removing-disassembling !

It shouldn't lock or travel much to release clutch and brake. Check linkage out, as it sounds like thats some of the problem. 1/16th distance between disc and brake pad is a must! And you can get 1" split washers at good hardware or industrial supply companies, Farm stores etc.

You have definitely found one of the Tigers weaknesses. To aggressive of tires and to much power will eat the dry cones up.A 340 wasnt offered, the 295 was the biggest and ANYTHING other than a mild chevron is to much tire.
