  • Floor height (Terra Tiger)

From what I can tell, the wood that was originally in the floor of the Terra Tigers was 1/4" thick. I have decided to replace it with 1/2 inch and will upgrade the floor reinforcements to a hybrid of BOTH options that the Terra engineers came up with. I will put the angle iron cross braces (pic 1) to bridge the bottom AND I will use a reinforcement like the aftermarket one (pic 2) to pull the fiberglass bottom up tight with the cross braces.

My question is this: I know there is still room for the axles, but will the extra 1/4" of floor height throw anything else off? I don't think the drive belt will be affected. The drive chain should be able to be adjusted. The only things I can think that will be affected are the brakes and maybe the arms that og into the tiller. These are minor issues right? Anything I am missing?

I think you should find some thinner material! As you'll have to turn down brake disc for sure and I don't think axles would be correct either. Unless you take out were center brg. holder fits. Not that much room on any of ours.

I don't know if it would work but what about HDPE. You can buy it by the sheet. It is offered in different sizes and colors and comes in a .25 thickness. Its rigid but can be molded with heat and it never rots. Just a thought. I have an Attex and I've been looking in to it as a skid plate like some of the other members have done.

I think you may be right Jeff. Dang, I already purchased it and cut it to size! I like the HDPE idea....do you think the resin will bond it to the existing bottom?

Your resin will not bond to the HDPE. I would stay with the plywood. Just my 2 cents....Mark
