  • Front axle braces (terra tiger)

As stated in another thread, I am having a machinist whip me up a hybrid set of axle-area reinforcements emplying both the aftermarket upgrade kit that bolts through the bottom AND the TT18 model frame enforcements that bolt from side to side.

I am curious, though, as to why (in both cases of the two different upgrades) there is no additional support for the front axle? I would think that the front axles take the hardest beating and therefore require the most need for reinforcement. Is there any reasoning that I am overlooking?

On mine the fiberglass has a thicker wall where the axle bearing hub mounts. Take a closer look at yours.

Now I cannot speak for the earlier models as I have no experience with them.

Wasn't a problem with front axle's center support bowing or flexing! Front sides were heavier- thicker as Mark mentioned. Middle and rear sides are thinner and thats why supports were added to them.

And as Amphiman1 said front axles are ones that normally get bent!!!! I bent my share of them when I was younger. )) And even broke a few wheels off them!
