scrambler wheel hubs wont come off

i have been working on my 69 scrambler. i have it torn down to the axels. i need to get the wheel hubs off to get the axels out but i cant. i removed the pins that keep the wheel hubs from moving. i have pb blasted it. i have tryed a 3 jaw puller, i welded a bult onto the puller so that i could use a slid hammer on it. i tried heating the hub with my plumbing torch. i did not use the cutting torch because i was afraid to get the tub and every thing else to hot. but no luck can abody tell what to do

I`ve had to carefully split the hubs apart to save axles, but you could try heating them and rapidly
cooling them sometimes works. hopefully someone can come up with something else
so you don`t have to destroy them.

ok so after you cut the old ones off wher did you get 6 new ones at

You told me in pm so I didnt state it but so others no. I would try a puller or slide hammer first. If still no luck.....


I had some I had to cut a slit in them with a cut off wheel. I plan on welding the slit back and see if I can use them again. If not then I am making some new ones. If your talking about the balloon hubs then you may be able to get away with re using them with the slit. Cut the slit in between 2 roll pin holes. Use bolts instead of the roll pins and the bolts will help hold the hub together. The balloons are not aggressive and might be ok running them. Not only the bolts but the lugs studs will also help hold it. If you have a welder or know someone who does then I would weld the slit back up though.

first my axels only have one roller pin. i know that the newer axels have two but i only got the one. i am not going to use the factor rims and tires i want to upgrade to 4 or 5 bolt rims. not that i have a lot of choice because the last guy welded the factory rims inside of tractor rims. lol i wonder since im going to change bolt patteren anyway how hard would it be to just build new hubs

Basicaly you just need some thick tubing the right size and some thick plate steel. If you go 4 lug it may be easier because you can make the hubs square.

Thats whats on my 208tt. I also have a set of runumucks mounted on some to for???? Not sure what yet.

I like them because there 7" wide so the tires a little taller and the bead seats easier. Bead stays on easier too. I had a large stick get stuck between my body and the wheel once and the tire was pushed off the bead. I drove it up to buckhntr17 garage to put air in it and it was on the bead. real low on air but was on the bead. I was like heck yea.

One problem with using golf cart rims is that they wont hold the beads on the tires well especially if they are low preassure tires and thats what you want with a 6x6 I would go with k lock rims I have them on four of my tires and there at 1.5 psi I havent had any problems and the other two are at 10 psi and they have fallen off the bead a couple times I have a set of two k-locks I have to paint and put the tires on to replace the two rims on there. I think you can get them from Recreatives but I am not sure how much they are. If you have 6 rims you can try it and see if it works fine with them before you shell out a few hundred for the k-locks.

Not sure on my pressure but that log was the only issue I have ever had with loosing a bead and it wasnt lost for long, lol. I got 4 rims with golf cart tires too for 50 bucks. Cheap alternative that has worked for me. I think they stay on because most rims are 8" wide and these are 7" so theres a better squeeze.

I will try and measure for sure but I think mine is 1/4"
