swamp fox 6x6 worth what?

Found a unknown year swamp fox no motor, transmission in pieces. tub is supposed to be in good shape, any suggestions on what its worth? he was asking $400, said he would take $250.

print off the t-20 rebuild article and take it with you. do an inventory of the parts that are there... parts for a t-20 can get pricey so make sure it's all there. if so i think $250 would be ok. if the tub and frame are good, then your looking at engine, bearings, chain and wiring to get it going... about the same things you would need to do if you bought a machine that was together and needed all those things replaced. look the machine over real good. try to look for places where something was bolted, and see if you can find the part that went there. also print off the atv buyers checklist and take a copy with you when you go to look at the machine

If it's the same machine that's listed under "ebay, craigslist, and more" then it's a real project, but personally I'd jump at it for $250. You can always find an engine, and the rest of the parts are either available new, used or you can make them yourself without too much trouble. There's always someone on this site that's willing to help out with information or advice. Good Luck!

That's a tough call. I think it revolves around your own mechanical skills. If you are handy and like to tinker, go for it. If you rely on others to do mechanical work, you may want to pass.
I have a Super Swamp Fox, and its a great machine, I think it is like a Max4 if you converted to mid-engine, and made the max a better swimmer. The fact that its a bigger machine and can carry heavier loads is also a plus.
I'll have my recent mods posted before long. Its really turning out to be a great machine, thats exceeded my expectations.
