  • Sperry Rand Wedge won't turn left

I currently own 2 sperry rand wedges , one with no options, and one with all three. ive kept them all origanal for the most part and need some technical help from any one who might be able to shed some light on my problem. you see my wedge quit turning left, and they are hard to get around with one way steering. ive tried to adjust the cluctch assy. every witch from sunday. it works when i have the buggy off the ground, but as soon as i put it on the ground, it wont turn. the shaft just spins, not the tires. is there any body out ther that can help me, i would greatly appreciate it. my e-mail address is gertmudy@yahoo.com and my phone number is (407) 459-0335 thanks again for allowing me to join in my opinion the true 6x6 atv club.

i don't know the wedges at all, but it sounds like a broken shear pin, or sprocket tube bolt. a pin or bolt might stay in place, but be sheared off in the tube, and have enough friction with the machine off the ground to turn things. a use a pair of pipe wrenches, one on the sprocket tube and one on the shaft to see if they will turn independent of each other and that might pinpoint your problem area

I had a similar problem with my Wedge. I broke one of the springs on the clutch. Without the spring, the clutch will not engage and/or the brake will not work.
