  • Kid "N" chains

Got a main chain that's in bad repair. The 35 triple. When installed and adjusted it appears loose. The chain has 4 master links installed. I've counted 145 pitch's, the chain laid flat measure's approx. 55 inches. Has the triple stretched or maybe links where added? Any insight would be appreciated.

Well this might be a dumn question but I figure ill make sure...Do you have the triple chain tensioner tightened up on it? If not it is the bolt on top of the main left and right sprocket housings..

The 35-3 chain lays slack on top of a lower brace. Unless the chain is to be routed over instead of under the tensioner sprocket? The tensioner does'nt apply pressure. Thanks for the help I realize it is hard to diagnose from a distance.

well I dont exactly understand what your saying but one good thing to try is take the other triple chain off and compare the lengths of the two chains maybe the loose one is too long...like you said or maybe something else If they are the same length then when you reinstall them and it is the same I have all the manuals I can (If i can figure out how) email you the parts of the manual you need.

Thanks for the support. What I found is that both chains are the same length. Good thing I got to looking, I didn't realize that the triple has the extra master links for a reason. I think the chains are simply streached. The question of the day now is. Will the main chain remain loose or taunt, regardless the adjustment of the jack screw? Meaning is the tensioner sprocket the only adjustment available?
