Hi everyone. My name is Justin and I've just purchased my first "toy" I'm not sure of the year but it's an action age scrambler. However it doesn't look the same as the ones I've seen online. For one it has no headlights. The front is just smoothed over. Also it doesn't have a steering wheel. Just two aluminum levers coming out of the floor that appear to enngage and disengage the clutches. Also it only has one peddle. (I'm not sure if its the gas or brake. I haven't torn into it yet.) The guy I bought it from gave my an owners manal and parts manual for a 69-70 scrambler 1000. But the serial number plate says its a model 1300. Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated. And does anyone know where to get parts when I need them? Also all the tires are junk. Does anyone know the cheapest way to replace them? I know I can put tires and rims on it instead of the throwaway tire/hub combos. But I don't have much to spend. Hope to hear from you scrambler enthusiasts soon so I can get her running. Thanks, Justin

Hi Justin,
I am reletively new to the 6x6 scene as well, but have been doing a lot of research as I just picked up a Scrambler model 1000. Your model 1300 would only have a gas peddle....to brake you let off gas and pull back on both levers. Also, the model 1300 had no lights and is pull start, thus no battery. Your gas tank would be mounted in the front (My model 1000 has it in the rear) and originally the 1300 came with a B&S 7 hp motor. Good luck with it.

Yup. Everything you pointed out seems to check out. It does have the original Briggs and Stratton and original gas tank up front. Hope to hear from you other scrambler enthusiasts out there. Also, I'm still looking for tires if anyone has any available.
