a few questions on my first 6x6

hey guys... i'm in IL and looking at maybe getting my first 6x6... it's an old amphicat with the 18hp sachs 2 cycle engine, and the borg warner tranny (which i read, is good)... as of now, it doesn't run.

my questions are...
- how hard is to find parts for this thing... engine, body, tires, etc.
- what are some of the common problems with these machines... anything to look for when checking it out?
- and i guess, anything else i should know for my first 6x6?

thanks for the link... there's a lot of good information and tips in there.

unfortunately... i don’t have very many of the options listed in the link... the way i will be acquiring this machine, is by a trade for an old motorcycle i have... if i were buying it out right, i would probably be a little more picky... and follow those guidelines a little closer

where you at in illinois? i'm near decatur and in the middle of an amphicat re-do. i have rounded up a couple of donor machines and may have a few extra parts.
