KID throttle cable

Is anyone using a throttle cable other than the orginal wire type? Is the VH4D motor capable of sudden rpm changes without damage to itself? All suggestions are appreciated. thanks cd

one of the kids I bought had what appeared to be an old lawn mower throttle assembly seemed like a good match up.

I used a PTO cable from NAPA. If the cable does not have too many twists and turns, PTO cables are nice because they are locking and can be finely adjusted.
