  • Trailblazer 6x6

I traded a moped that needed a heap of work for a trailblazer 6x6 that the guy had started to put a snowmobile motor into. I am going back to the 12hp 4 stroke motor, and am almost there. My problem is the only information I have is the brochure found here on the 6x6 world site. The wiring on the engine looks just like an old john deere lawn tractor so that not a problem. The transmission is another story. What type is it? What type of lube does it use? If anyone can be of help, it would be great. I have wanted something like this since I was a kid back in the 60's and 70's. If you want email me direct, string6078@wah.midco.net Thanks PS it is looking at all the great atvs

Kevin is right, pics would be a huge help. I believe the Trailblazer uses a hydrostatic drive. 6x6World member Larry W has a Trailblazer project too......maybe he can chime in and help you out.

Sorrry it took so long to post pictures. I finally found the directions and that made it easy. If there any specific pictures you would like to see of my trailblazer let me know.

That's actually a pretty nice and very original Trailblazer you've got there. That will be nice to see this one all done brought back to its original condition. Keep us updated.

Wow what a great find. The story I heard is they only made like 8-9 of these machines. I also heard they made one of every color option. Yours appears to be the same color as mine which is the same color as the brochure. Very interesting. I only know of 4 in existence now. I have only seen one other one in better shape then what yours appears. Nice find! That transmission was also used in the "newt the bold" and also very early tracked machine which I cant think of the name now. The cool thing about it is it will counter rotate. One side can reverse while other is forward which most machines will only brake one side while other is forward. Good luck with it and keep us posted please!

Thought I would give an up date. Got the motor mounted on Sunday and now making battery box and mount. Took the battery out of my roadglide, don't tell my wife. Should get the fuel tank back in and start on wiring this weekend. More pictures after that. Larry thanks for the info it has been hard to find. What are you using for trans fluid, I am torn between atf and hytran?
