Hi!!! My husband and I are ready to re-furbish our 1970 Bazoo. What are the engine options? The engine is the original Curtiss-Wright. Are parts available for this type of engine and also schematics for the engine (there are ignition parts and points missing). What are the Honda engine options--especially the 20 horsepower, V twin? We are also looking for the trim that separates the top and bottom. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you Annebazoo

Hi Anne, I moved your post out of the introduction thread to a thread of its own so that more people would see it. The Bazoo isn't a very common 6x6. There are a couple of members on the site that own them so perhaps they can chime in to help you out with specifics. There are a few pictures in the gallery of xlr8's Bazoo:
The Curtis-Wright motor was used in several different things from ATVs to Snowmobiles (CCW) so you may be able to find parts for them especially from some of the snowmobile parts stores. As for a replacement, it looks like your biggest hurdle will be having the space to fit one. Outside of that, be prepared to swap out the clutches to a 4 stroke clutch. Since the original motor probably put out 30HP I would imagine the transmission would be able to handle any 4 stroke that you threw at itJust thinking out loud...
Welcome to the site and good luck with your restoration.

Hi AnneBazoo welcome to the site I dont know too much on the older two strokes but I do run a newer briggs and stratton 18 horsepower vanguard 4 stroke v-twin in my Attex they are a very nice engine and from pics on the site it looks like one would fit very nicely in the bazoo. hopefully you can find parts for the engine or a replacement that would be a fun machine when its done and for the trim on the body you could check with a hardware store and see what they have for rubber c-channel trim or you could take steel angle iron and make a body band and with that you could install a winch or a roll cage on it or both you can find the thread on how to make one in the how to section and I have a few pics in my gallery on making the bends in the angle iron a little easier and to see how to do it. hope this helps and good luck on the project.sigpic1969 Gip-Sea four stroke conversion 1983 honda Big Red 200E engine
