  • Hard to push with drive chains installed normal?

I just put all new drive chains on my scrambler.I already rebuilt all the bearings on the clutch shaft etc.My question is it normal for a 6x6 to be extremely difficult to move by hand?No engine installed yet and everything moved very easily till the final chains to the clutch sprockets were hooked up.I just need to know if this is normal due to 6 wheels all turning at the same time. Thanks

The brake shoes may be dragging or out of adjustment. It does make it somewhat harder when the last chains are on and next to impossible when the belt is on the clutch.

thanks for the info.So it sounds like if there is engine trouble at some time while out riding I should be prepared to disonnect the 2 drive chains if i want to push it.

If it has a steering wheel, that would be the best. if it has laterals (sticks) you can make shims for the sticks to hold them back to disengage the clutches. The other possibility is to fit some small ball or plug valves at the clutch cylinders and hold the cylinders at a position where the clutches are disengaged,
