  • scrambler gas pedal throttle cable???

Well I have my 1970 scrambler running with the 16 hp flat twin briggs installed.I just need some help on where to purchase the correct throttle cable that goes from the gas pedal all the way back to the engine.I purchased a 6ft choke cable from tractor supply that will take care of the choke cable.I did purchase a 12 foot push pull universal throttle cable from ebay today but I am not sure If its going to work.Suggestions from the scrambler owners???

I wish I could help you more but I kinda did the same thing. Worked with what I had or got and made it work. Why don't you think the universal one will work?

I figure I will have a hard time because my pedal is missing the torsion spring which I need to figure out where to get one and the fact that I cant figure out how the stiff choke like cable I ordered is going to move freely with all the bends from behind the pedal up and over to the engine. When I look at the parts breakdown pics on the original scrambler owners manual it seems that the throttle cable had a bigg spring and bracket .Maybe it wont be so bad.once again Thanks for the help.

you can use a tandem bicycle shift cable . Upscale bike shops will custom make cables. or you can spend the money on a JR dragster cable. JR Race Car 550-8581-12F JR Race Car Throttle Cables
