  • 1970 Stalker, PLEASE HELP

Guys, I started a thread during the winter as I was rebuilding a 1970 Stalker. Well this past weekend I was able to get the tires on and finish the unit! Upon my first ride I notied that I had to pull really hard (I mean hard) to get it to turn and sometimes when pulling on the left stick there was a nasty grinding sound. I can only assume that the Form Sprag Clutches have seen better days so I was wondering if any of you know which rebuild kit to get for the clutches?

    Thanks, John

Yes you did send me the information on where to get them... I will pull the unit apart and see what the numbers are. I am guessing that I need four rebuild kits, two for the clutches and two for the brakes?

outstanding! well right off the bat im short the chain for the right front drive, leaving me with 5 wheel drive. its def a project and im just getting into all the pieces and parts. i also know i do not have any interior pieces, seat, floorboard etc. the rest seems to be complete although im sure i will find some parts that need replacing along the way. i am curious as to what a fully functional stalker is capable of????

the stalker is a 1970's mybey 25 produced machene, capabilities are not what modern machenes are. they are fast but not real reliable in the back trails.I consider them more of a novalty machine. the one i have is painted pink camo for my wife. axles are small and twist easy, breaking is inadiquit for a skid steer, body cant take the twistand breaks often. although it is an important part of AATV history.

yea i can see that, beyond the rather small frame the engine sits on theres nothing but plastic. how do they fair through a small water hazard???

if you are looking for a machene for every day play i would recomend a max11, very reliable and parts are still made for it. stalker could be OK I Guess, if you put a T20 in it.
