  • homemade scrambler bleeders

All of my scrambler bleeders have been leaking since I rebuilt my scrambler.I searched hi and low for some reverse brake bleeders which is what the scrambler bleeders actually are.I called richards relics and he told me he had 2 left and wanted $50 a piece!!!-Well this is what I did.-I went to my local parker hydraulics store and bought 3 hydraulic ball cock 1/8-27 thread valves at $9 a piece. Then on to harbor freight to purchase a box of american thread grease fittings at 3.99 a box. Then on to a plumbing store for 3 --1/8-27 npt pipe nipples and 3 unions or couplers-$7.--Unscrew nipple portion of original scrambler brake bleeder leaving the 90 degree part still attached to cylinder-next screw in pipe nipple -then shut off valve-then screw in the straight grease nipple to the shutoff. Now I can reverse bleed my hydraulics through the grease nipple then simply turn the ball cock closed to keep pressure and no more leaks!!-my scrambler steers and brakes like it never ever has before! No more running into things after driving around for 5 minutes.I will get some pics later.Just trying to give some scrambler owners some options as I spent way to much time looking for bleeders. There was just no way I was going to shell out $50 a piece to richards relics-I honestly dont know how that guy can charge the prices he does.
