  • Sears, yes thats right SEARS Sportster

Imagine going into your local Sears to pick up some Craftsman gear wrenches when you see a brand new 6 wheeler on the showroom floor! Wow, I wish I was growing up back when these things were really popular!

Awesome! Plus imagine if it had the craftsman warranty too...if it breaks you can just take it back and exchange it for a new one

Yes that would be very cool! I think that these machines were equipped with the T-20 transmission, I would back that transmission up with that kind of warranty. I have taken T-20's apart that still look like new even though they were 35+ years old.

Those are cool. I've seen 1 or 2 on ebay over the years.

I remember a couple on ebay over the years, too. That's got to be one of the oddest looking machines ever made. I'm assuming that someone manufactured them for Sears to market. Does anyone have pics of the drive?
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

          (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

Don, Im not 100% sure on this, but I thought I heard somewhere that these machines came with T-20's. Does anybody know?

I think I might just have to go on an adventure into the boonies and find one.

I found this one on my way home from work one day in my neighbors front yard about 150yds from my front door.I don't think they were to popular. The fiberglass body is about a 1/4in thick.Would make a good boat anchor for an aircraft carrier. I'd hate to roll it over and have my legs stuck in those holes.

I don't think that I would want my legs in there either. Cool pictures though.

Did your neighbor want to sell it? Do you happen to know what it has for an engine and transmission?

Oh and by the way, its probably a good idea that there's a cage on that machine because you guys are probably right......rolling the machine with your legs in those holes wouldn't feel too good.

Thanks, I really appreciate the offer........I would really love to run on the sand dunes down there with you guys, it looks like a blast. I always wanted to bring my 1969 Attex racer on some dunes, but in NY there isnt much sand unfortunately. Take away a zero and make the asking price $450 for the Sears 6x6 and I might go for it.
