  • Any Idea What This Is???

A contact I made through playing with the Rokon's sent me an e-mail a few weeks ago regarding a 6 wheeler that he found. It is located about an hour from me, and my contact is trying to track down the owner to see if it's for sale. It has been modified for wheelchair access. The machine has been sitting at a technical college and has been there for several years. The college wants it gone so that push might help my cause. Looks to be hydraulic drive. So....... anyone know what it is???

Brian, this is a Power-Trac Hunt-Vee. If you can get it cheap, grab it! Here's a link:

UV Class Scroll half way down on this page and you'll see all the info on it.

            Brian,
I've read some pretty ugly horror stories from a few other Power-Trac owners, so unless you can snag it for a song I'd be leery. Do a search on the old Route6x6 site; some of the P-T related posts should still be buried in the discussion archives. Obviously you won't be dealing with the company since it's used, but still... buyer beware. However, it could be the basis for a REALLY COOL frankenstein project if you can rip all of the guts out and, as Hydromike suggested, install them into some home-made confabulation. Might be a fun time. Keep us posted on what happens.

I would assume that Power-Trac has received a lot of negative phone calls from very unhappy owners of their now discontinued 6x6 ,and this is the reason that the picture of it has now been removed from their website.

Thank you Swift for the ID, and everyone else for the input. As per usual, If the price is right and Cash is at hand, It will end up at the house.... I currently have a Tricart and a boat that are about $100 each from being done. Just what I need... another distraction

Brian, these are notoriously slow. Maybe 10 mph tops. They have all wheel motors and no chains. From what I recall the hydraulic components were good quality. I did look at an application years ago to install two speed valve bodies on the motors to get a higher ground speed. Of course some extra hp would be a big help.
