New to the 6x6 but found a keeper..i think?

Id like to say hello to everyone im new to the site. Just have a quick question. Ive lived down the road from an older guy that collects things and has had a ton of cool stuff over his life time. We were walking around his property years ago and he has a sperry rand wedge sitting under a half covered lean two and i asked him about buying it and he said no.

So sure enough he came to the house the other day telling me about it and said if i wanted it he would sell it to me for a 100 bucks. And he kept telling me things about it like that it ran fine and he put all new axles bearings and a new motor in it 20 years ago and he didnt run it much so he parked it. All the pices are there along with an extra motor it just needs a good cleaning and some of the painted metal is now rusty.

Now my next question is it worth me restoring? it will all really be just taking it apart and cleaning and repainting. Im new to the 6x6comunity but ive always wanted one (and no there is no roll cage or jet drive so that kinda bits lol) but i just didnt wanna sink money into something that i could have got better else where.
Any feedback would be great like i said im new to this and new to the site

Those wedges are pretty sweet looking if you ask me. If you are going to take it apart to clean it, make sure its right while you do it. Keep it as origional as possible and you will be alright. I'd say you got one heck of a deal.

For $100 you really can't go wrong. I'd jump right on that one.

Thanks alot guys i just wanted to make sure i was doing the right thing i love the way that thing looks!! but in the back of my mind i was just thinking if im gonna spend the money is this thing worth it, but from what i see and hear its going to be right up my ally!!

And if you don't decide to go forward with the project you could always sell it for double or triple the $100 price tag the seller wants for it.

Got my wedge all apart

I got my sperry rand wedge a coupe of days ago from behind my neighbors house and now its all apart... Evedrything came apart very easy but i did have a few that had to be cut off. now im down to the bare tub with everything on the floor and ready to be tore down. so if anyone needs any pics of wedge stuff or has any questions please let me know id be more then willing to help!! Buy the way the gas tank dose come out! really i had no choice it had to come out eather way bc it has chunks of old oil in it!

Cool! Get us some pictures man! btw, the 3-5 bolt adapters got sold, the minute i replied to your msg, ken msg'd me and said to check my paypal account, and he had paid for them. Indeed he did.

Although theres also the 4 bolt hubs i got, and that golf cart place in shelocta has a ton of wheels N tires laying around, i bet he'd sell the wheels cheap! Just an idea to consider?..
