  • Just picked up a camel!

I have recently begun the end stages of getting my RIM back into running service. So naturally i needed a new set of tires; while looking on craigslist i saw an add for a 6x6 for $100. For the price i was curious. Turns out the guy didn't know what brand but he did claim to have the tires i needed and they had 0miles on them. They also had new wheels, all bought within the last year. He never got the machine running but i bought it and thanks to 6x6world ive identified it as a camel. It does need lots of help but the tranny is good.

    Nice version:
From all of us who would love to have a camel at ALL, congratulations! Hope you get it running and it turns out to be a great machine for you.

Let's seem some pictures of the new find, tatim. We don't have a heck of a lot of Camel pictures on the Site, and they're a very cool looking machine.

The Camel is such a cool machine, and we absolutely need pics! We'd all love to help lend advice so you can restore it.

The Paint/Sand isn't so bad. the big hole in the right side is none to pretty though! I think the camel bodies are ABS which is really easy to work with. If you were going to paint the top, a donor chunk of ABS from an Attex that was beyond repair would probably have you back in business. The bodies must have been molded way too thin. the only Camel I've seen that didn't need a lot of body help was the one LarryW posted pics of from an old craigslist ad

Tatim78, looks pretty good. I picked one up awhile back. Hope to start on it this winter. The tub needs a lot of ABS work. Quite a few cracks. Maybe we can compare notes on rebuilding them.
