    036.jpg

Hi all. just got myself a 6x6 here in Australia but im unsure of what it is as it dose not have an id plate.
the only clues is that it is powered by a german made twin cylinder two stroke that has a symbole H on it, has a t -20 transmission. a steel hull and a prop underneath that is driven by belts from a right angle drive off the crank, I would like to restore it to full use so any help would be great, hope the photo works.

Check out this thread. Your pic or my eyes are blurry but I think the video is of the same brand machine. They say its a United 6 amphibious tracker.

Excellent call, Drew. That be the beastie. A lot of the Aussie folks chimed in on that last thread, so it looks like there may be 4 or 5 of them Down Under. Time for a group ride!

You got it in one. Are you sure it has a twin cylinder in it as I only know of them having singles. The hull is aluminium (normally). Good find , Where are you?

Thanks for the info, I'm in the nt east of vic, and it has a twin in it for sure although it looks like it may have been an afterthought. Would be good to see a restored one, the main things that need attention is the gear box that jumps out when you go to reverse (dogs not locking in), need sum parts for the prop assembely ( no rudder and some kind of bush on the prop shaft) and to locate some seals for the axels. I'm hoping the axel seals will be the same as an Argo or something?

If it jumps out of gear it could be an inexpensive part such as a detent spring inside the T-20, although you would have to take it apart to get at it. This would be a perfect time to rebuild the T-20 with new gaskets and seals. All of these parts are available through Recreatives Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511 since they still make the T-20 transmission. Also, there are articles here on 6X6World to help you through the rebuild process. It actually seems pretty simple once you start doing it.

How to rebuild your Borg Warner Skid Steer T20 transmission from start to finish. This article has over 100 pictures and detailed instructions for rebuilding the tranny in your 6x6 amphibious atv
