Or just weld your adapers to the axle. Three or four triangular shaped braces on the backside of the hub to the axle will make it strong.
Welding tends to warp things, so tack weld, then spin to make sure it's true before finish welding.

Hey guys this is an old thread but i wanted to say thanks for the info.
I have been driving the #%}¥ out of the Bazoo and the spindle i welded is all good.
I did replace the studs on 2 more axles because they kept coming loose.
Someone had them epoxied to the spindle (not welded) and i replaced them with longer studs.
I like the idea of triangle gussets on the back of the spindle but for now they are good.
