  • Rear mounted winch

Hey guys I made a winch mount for the back of the Bazooo.
Added a shackle mount to use with a snatch block.
Pulled 8 fallen trees out of my ravine today....40 ft pulls and it works great
Didn't even get warm or kill the battery.
Now I need to get stuck in some mud and see if it gets me out.

ha ha... as they say, be careful what you wish for..lol

Rear mount looks great. Did you set it up to use the same thumb switch as front winch or did you install a rear remote ...im in the process of a similar project and just trying to think what would be most convenient.

      I don't have a front mount yet.
Not sure if I want to put it on the front because of the fuel tank and tiny bumper.
The controls have a handle bar mount but a remote switch would be great...Im thinking of mounting controls beside the seat on the tub.
I don't want any wires near my feet or on the sticks and the control is kinda large for the dash.

Here, check out what I did - http://www.6x6world.com/forums/hustl...r-950-a-2.html

I even included a schematic for how I wired mine in with a knife switch so I dont get shocked hooking up the electric while standing in water.

          Get shocked?
If the winch isn't running there shouldn't be any power past the switch. And I don't think 12 volts will kill you lol.
Great idea with the quick disconnect and ability to move the winch front to back.

With all the times in my life that Murphies Law has been noted. I wont be taking no chances! Your right, 12 volts wont kill you. But unlike Alternating Current, Direct Current will grab a hold of you. So just in case,... I put in that switch. I'd hate to have to ride back in the atv with a load in my pants!

Look at the size of my controller.
I'm thinking of making a holder on the side of the tub so I can hold it while winching.
Doesn't look waterproof and hate to think what would happen if it gets wet.
              Zap zap sizzle..

Heres an easy project that will increase you winching power x 2.
It takes less than an hour to cut the plates and drill a couple holes and make a snatch block.
                heres the pieces

                easy and it works great.
