I just purchased this machine, it is amazing I don't care what any of you say. It has a 25 HP Koehler with two huge hydrauilc pumps, this think is surprisingly very fast. I was going full speed without my sat belt and I hit a bump and almost went flying out.. I went directly to my pond and drove it in, it goes 3-5 MPH and is very stable ( it was me and my father in it, two full grown adults) it climbs hills perfectly, and it has tons of power for towing. Far better than any max I have seen this thing is pity really bullet proof, built like a tank. Whoever first gave these things a bad name has made it spread around these forums.. It needs to stop. This is an older power trac model it isn't the hunt vee.
That sounds cool!
You ought to bring it to the 6x6 ride on April 21st that Brandon is putting together. If you are in MO it might not be too far of a drive.
I can't think of a better way to prove the negative people wrong...... Go run circles around the Argo's, Max's, Hustler's, Attex's and others.....Show them who has the best machine Remember to take video when you pull them out of the mudd pit. And most important...have fun doing it.
Congrats on the purchase. It looks like a very well built machine. I do think hydraulic power is the way to go. Please post some more digitals and some video. I would love to see a comparison between your machine and other amphibs.
Don't take my earlier post wrong, speed isn't always where its at, cross country ability is the main thing I look for in an amphib. Your machine looks very capable.

Looks like this guy was all talk, Jim. No videos, no showing up to rides, no GPS proof of its speed, and no way of proving all of the (true) comments about this being an inferior machine wrong.

i believe if a fellow has plenty of money to spend on a project, there are lot's of talented machinist, fabricators, custom parts, upgrades, etc. that can be applied to this machine to make it top grade. but as j.p. says it may still have it's limitations after all is spent and done. just depends on what you need and like i believe in the end. keep us posted. john boy va.
