Steering at high speed.

Hey guys heres a video of the Bazooo at high speed.
Notice i need to correct the steering to keep it in a straight line.
Wants to pull left at speed...is this normal?
All the tires have 5 psi and im wondering if i should put more air in them.

Man, that rotax sounds good. Tire circumferance might have something to do with it, even if all tires are at the same pressure, there is a lot of variance in similar sized atv tires. I would take them off the machine one at a time, measure them, reinstall, then go from there. It may be the left side has one or more tires that are slightly larger than on the other side.

Noel is right, that does sound good. I think he is on to something with the tire circumference too. If thats not it maybe look into something dragging on the right side. Im not up to snuff with the transmission on those but maybe brakes/bearing..... Maybe pull the machine off the ground and spin each side and see if there is a noticeable difference on how hard it is too spin them.

edit: 5 psi is plenty if not too much. I wouldn't go higher. Its harder on your back plus the axles.

Circumference...definitely, then seatbelts. Now I know you're asking yourself "what does seatbelts have to do with steering?" ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, but I'm fairly certain you were going a little faster than the average 20 or so mph, and I would almost bet a check your butt left tha seat more than once during that vid which, btw was awesome

Brushcutter You are correct..i wasnt at full throttle cause its a bit hairy and probably need a helmet and rops if i get it to go straight and open it up. Would hate to break a chain at that speed.
Plott hound i did notice you measuring the tires at NCTs .
How close do they need to be? Within 1/4 inch or less?

I don't know where Whipper posted what we use to measure the tires. It's a leather strap that has no give with the inch/half inch/quarter inch increments marked. You can even measure them while they are on the machine. Just lift one side with a jack. Just make sure that all the tires measure the same (forget about psi). Then see if it still pulls. I have had mine 69 1/2" on one side & 70"on the other sometimes. It's no big deal. But if it still pulls, maybe check for a bad bearing. I even had a chain adjuster just need to be adjusted to straighten my butt out once.

well i measured the circumference of my tires today....left side front to back was 61 1/2" . 64" . 65"
the right side was 64" . 64" . 65" so i aired the small ones up till they were all 65" and heres the results.
the ride is much stiffer but wow its faster and it goes straight. Thanks for the help.....(i used the belt trick)

If i buy 6 new tires will they be the same size ?

Bazoo Guy, if the ride is too stiff, you can let some air out for comfort, just make sure that they all are the same circumference.

Brushcutter, For you, I think flowers or just a hug will work.
