So looks like im not the only person to have this oddball aatv.
prairie bobcats were built in Edmonton Alberta Canada in the 70-80s. They came in 1200 &2000 models. Some in fiberglass. Some in steel. I have two 2000 models. They both have a powerblock clutch simliar to Salsbury 980 clutches. They use a kimpex super k10-124 or dayco max 1038r HP 3001. The transmission is. A 3speed Borg Warner t25 but is known as a T92-148 they were very popular usd in drill presses, Crosley cars, powerking, Jim dandy, economy tractors. And are still produced today by olympic gear. Servicemotors. Also sells parts. The drivetrain bearings are simple pillow block and flange bearings. Parts can be bought from local hardware stores. The engine in mine is a Kohler.17HP or kt17 a Subaru 20HP is a drop in. with a 1" keyed shaft. More info to follow. Rob

Yes that is good to know i`ve rebuilt mine completely and have found all my parts at various places for reasonable prices, There`s alot I`ve improved on mine aswell that the previous builders did`nt think about during the mad dash for the top of the line ATV however mine is ready for the brutal path .

I found one of the jumbo's online here shortly ago that I'm interested is purchasing. Buddy has painted and armor guarded it, did a once though service, installed some checker plate, lights, and extended the cab over the box. All in all the machine looks great and drives like a 6x6 should. I've talked him down to $4200 from $5000 but that still seems steep to me considering it's a 40 year old unit. Any thoughts?

I don't think I would go higher than $2000.. but I'm a cheap bastard. It is 40 years old - also, consider the T-20 as an upgrade to the stock transmission (crap) and factor that into the price.

Just took a look online (Kijiji) in the Alberta area, 80's argos are going from $2000-$3000 (running).. food for thought before buying the PBC.
