  • FS: Hustler 980 BIGFOOT

As much as this pains me, I am thinking about selling my hustler 980 Bigfoot. I bought this project a few years ago and had it shipped up from Louisiana. Hydromike has done some frame work for me because it had a damaged frame when I got it due to the person I bought it from leaving the battery in it, which leaked. Because of work and other commitments I have not had any time to work on this. I also have multiple Attex projects to work on as well that will be less work than the hustler. The hustler will need to have the frame finished and will likely need new axles and sprockets.

The following parts come with the machine. Tub, project frame, axles and sprockets, 18hp Briggs I/C opposer cylinder engine, T20 case halves with what miscellaneous parts came with it to begin with (will need parts), no bands, front and rear bumpers, brand new bearings from Buffalo Bearing, gas tank, professionally painted wheels and 6 brand new 26x12x12 Interco swamper tires. I am probably forgetting a few parts but those are the big ones.

The tub is in great shape and needs to be “heat gunned.” I hate seeing this project sit, knowing that I will not get to it anytime soon and would like to see it go to someone that can actually use it. I’m selling it “as-is.” Buyer responsible for pickup and/or shipping. I’m selling for $1900. If i get this price, I’ll see if I have a spare set of bands to go with it. Thanks for looking

I cannot get the pictures to upload here. If interested, PM me an email and I can send them. Machine located in NY zip code 14411.

I have to ask if you would be interested in trading it for a 1987 Concours sport-touring motorcycle.
Roadworthy, running condition, comes with valuable parts that could be sold or painted/installed to restore to OEM looks.

$800 if anyone wants it!! That’s as low as I’ll go. It’s so sad that nobody wants this. It seems like the hobby has really died off.

Wow,It seems pretty unlikely that nobody is interested. I am not a big fan of super swamper tires but a brand new set on wheels and an older Briggs engine would seem like a great deal for somebody even if the didn't want the rest of the machine. It would likely be worth your effort to find out how to post a couple of pictures.
                  Good luck.

I still need to sell! I am down $1,100 from my original asking price of $1,900. The price is now $800 and I am taking a loss. That price is firm. Here are some pictures of my "basket case" 980 BIGFOOT. I have had a few people reach out to me with interest and ask about shipping/transport. Unfortunately, I no longer have a pickup truck (part of the reason for my scaling back) and you will be responsible for arranging pickup or shipping using a company like Uship.com, etc. This is a solid starting point for someone looking to build one of these. As mentioned before, the tranny is apart and will likely need many parts. I have a full set of freshly relined bands that I am including. This transmission came to me apart unfortunately so I have no idea what exactly is there or what it needs. The main issue with the axles and sprockets is that the holes are "egged" out from past use. I wanted to build a new set if I were to do the build right, but time, money and ambition got in my way. The body is nice. The frame is there and needs to be finished. I had hydromike repair it for me because it had some rust issues. I have a wedding to pay for in 2020 and need to sell! Thank you!

I wish I was ready right now for my next project. I'm just finishing my Max ii and will be in the market very soon for another project machine. I'm not afraid of a road trip for a good project, I went to sugar Creek Ohio for my pile, and paid too much for it to boot .
