I do not know for sure but that looks a lot like my 84 IC which would mean it is older than advertised, I thought the magnums where a later build. This one is very clean however.

I thought 6 I/C myself if it was a Kohler machine.

I thought all I/C's were Briggs and Stratton and Magnums were Kohler...

The early I/C's were Kohler 17's with manual brakes, 8x8 hydraulic model K(6) or KB (8) until the 87change over to NK's ,which as you noted were not badged as Magnums ,and the briggs machines were Twins and later than the I/C's as the K machines came out when the Tecumseh's were still around and eventually phased out to be replaced by the Twins.

The Twins were B&S I/C opposed twin engines, model S(6) or SB(8).


No Magnums (or) NK 6 wheel or NKB 8 wheelers had front air holes.

Maybe that angle bracket on the front is called a "wench" in cajun speak. Everyone reading seems to be confusing "wench" with "winch".

Those front air holes are a real pia when entering the water at a angle they allow a lot of water in.
