Technically "diesel" refers to the type of combustion in the engine, ergo we use "diesel fuel" in a diesel engine. Jet-A is just another form of "diesel fuel". Besides, the only people not using the "D" word are the Cessna folks.

I take it your an aviation guy then Mike?

The Delta Sonic gas stations in WNY here just stopped carrying the 100 octane over the summer. NOT good news at all, Don. I should have "stocked up" on it while I had the chance to even though it was about double the cost of regular unleaded.

I hate what this place is becoming...... The EPA is a monster that must be tamed. It may be needed to keep industry in check, but it has grown to attack everything it can get it's hands on. Of course it's easy to say but so hard to do. If there is a silver lining it's that this new attack will affect SO MANY MILLIONS of people, and that will at least help gather a larger opposition group, not just Motorcycle and ATV folks, but landscapers, Boaters (already F-ed by the E10 they have probably already been rallied by BOAT U.S.) and anyone who mows their own yard is a potential advocate for stopping this B.S. Just gotta spread the word. (Anyone on HeyMow know if it's posted there?) I'll add it to XS400 since I just joined there....

Edit: My .02 is I don't need anyone ELSE'S "hope", and I think more "Change" would be worse....

I've seen it many, many times, where a government employee just wants to justify their job. They find problems where none really existed just to be able to say "see how bad I'm needed". If industry could police itself and do what is right, then gov. regulation would be unnecessary.....but they can't/won't. Left unchecked, the large corporations would do whatever made them the highest profits, polluting at will. I just watched a History Channel show that talked about Standard Oil refining oil into kerosene with a useless byproduct of gasoline that they dumped.......What wasn't talked about is WHERE they dumped it. My guess is: anywhere they wanted to. Moral of the story is the EPA and all government regulation may be evil, but it is a necessary evil.

I work at a feed mill and the corn prices are crazy high with the drought. Ethanol plants are required to produce so much. With the drought corn is limited so they are taking it. I expect pork and beef price to soar. The ethanol was suppose to make gas cheaper? I just see corn prices going up. Just my 2 cents.

I try not to get "political" on the site, but this is something that will eventually affect us and could do away with our hobby altogether (okay, that's a worse-case). 'Not trying to offend.

About ten years ago the EPA and DEQ regs started changing more rapidly and then around 2008 they went crazy (coincidence?). I can't speak for any other industries, but as far as power generation goes, it's getting tough to meet the new standards and many small peak-power plants are going to close if things keep going this way. That will put tremendous pressure on the grid during high usage hours and eventually will take it's toll. The powers that be don't seem to be interested in the problem and don't listen. Maybe when they're freezing in the dark?

IMHO the EPA and it's state government equivalents have become beasts that though still necessary, need to be leashed, and maybe muzzled.
