I'll start off with pictures.. (because pictures are always awesome entertainment).

    Picture 007.jpgPicture 011.jpg

This is something I've made with my CNC router table. Not too hard, also not great, but a work in progress. But... with the somewhat success of this I now feel like I could help out the industry of AATV's I love so well (albeit, lacking in ideas). The capabilities are essentially making molds of pretty much any dimension (5X8'). So to all the AATV'ers, I would like some ideas on what you would like to make a mold of and I will do my best to come up with something I can produce (basically turn it over at cost). This isn't a sales pitch, I just want to churn out some things that could be helpful to the industry - so throw me your ideas.

    Cheers,

    Beeman

Wow, nice work, Beeman and thanks for putting that great offer out there for us. I'll certainly be doing some thinking on that and get back to you.

I bet wooden tracks would really help with floatation.
A mold of a grouser would be good if you could fill it with liquid rubber.

UHMW machines similar to wood. I can imagine someone making their own tracks wanting grousers or wheel guides. It would be easy to make templates out of hardboard so people could machine parts with a router/drill. Like if someone needed to rebuild the seats for the back of their Argo and wanted a template for where the hardware went. (I know, not tough to just measure but I used a good seat as a template to make a replacement seat which was the only template I could think of at the moment.)

Do be careful that you aren't "selling parts" that might be patented.

I might consider wing profile and wing rib blank templates for another hobby group.

Seeing that other thread on UHMW tracks, I've decided to machine my own to play with. Already come up with a good design (I think) we'll have to see how they turn out.
