Ever get stuck, really, really stuck and needed just a little bit of extra pulling power? Well if you have plenty of cable(always carry a length for this reason) and just 2 snatch blocks this is how to get a 4 line pull using just the items mentioned. As told me by Carl H Prince, the wife's late grandpa:
Start by finding a sturdy tree or some means to anchor the cable. Down here there is almost always a tree nearby, so I'll use that for the demonstration. Next find the center of the cable and wrap it around the tree so you have 2 similar lengths, attach one snatch block to the stuck vehicle and route the cable from the closest side of the tree through it. To the end of the same cable attach the other snatch block and route the other cable through this second block and to the pulling vehicle. You now have a 4 line pulling setup which will work for everything from atvs to dozers.
