  • My year in review

Hey guys, I was not really sure where to put this.( if it's in the wrong place, I'm sure Mike will fix it for me)
Anyway, this is a little review of my past yr. ATV/AATV action as well as Hunting, Fishing, Boating, and General Family Time.
I think that those of you that know me will like it alot, and even get a few laughs. It will also give those that don't know me a little insight into me, and what I'm all about.
It's a little on the long side, but things happen pretty fast.

    Catch me if you can

That was a great video! Family, nature, and 6x6's what more could a man want?

I loved the clip of your kid driving the boat. You had posted it before I think but I didn't see where you guys almost hit a log until this video. That was a close call!

Great video. Look what well adjusted kids come out of a natural enviroment. What a big chunk of wilderness you enjoy. A head mounted camera is the only way to film and be active. What will the kids say when they watch this in 20 years.

            Rock Doctor ,

This video is probably the best one that you,ve posted so far . ( imho ) A BIG THUMBS UP! I really liked the action shots of your Argo crashing through the tree,s , and also the various animal shots . I also thought the music you choose went well with the video too .

I like the Bison you got

We do not have any Bison or buffalo by me .
I will try to get some Ontario north films this summer if you would like . I have this blue heron by me that is very large ,my nephew and nieces call it a pterodactyl
Why do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs

That seriously was an awesome video....I have some thoughts and questions:
                1) Now that was a blood trail!
                2) How do you like the paddles on your quad wheels?
                3) Seeing those bears up close was pretty cool for this Southern boy!
                4) I also enjoyed the beautiful scenery, very nice.

Living with bears is way out there, for someone not used to it. I vacationed in Alaska. Host took me for a hike, through sparsely populated area from house. Walked through fields, woods, across a dirt road with kids on bicycles, 200 ft past this road with kids, on a foot trail, we run into a napping black bear. No issue, we had some distance, he got up and walked off. Later, backpacking in Nat'l forest, I come across bear tracks. They're everywhere! like any other forest animal.

                    Thanks

The paddles make a pretty huge differance in the soup and muskeg (especially when pulling a trailer), and they are a great conversation starter, but other than that they are more of a PITA than anything.
There's a reason all my friends call them Sh** Slingers

                        The Dr deliveries again.

It is safe to assume that when jet boating, you are actually hitting bottom? I see your head jerk fairly hard a few times. And some of the shots seemed to show a pebbled bottom less than 1' deep. but then again, you can probably see the bottom across to the other side of the river. That must be an adrenaline rush, skimming that close to the bottom with a fish finder calling out "pull up, pull up".

Mike, you must have missed the bit where my daughter is driving and hits the "sweeper" log, jutting out from the logjam. She looks up at me and says "I hit that STICK"

xrover, Hitting rocks and logs is pretty standard operating procedure. I can run through about 2" of water without touching a rock (as long as I don't have to turn too sharp)Most Jetboats around here have UHMW Plastic (it's like teflon) bolted to the bottom of the hull. This makes it "slippery" and easier to push the boat back into the water. My current boat (18' long W/ 175 HP) has a 1/4" thick 6061 Aluminium bottom (+ 11 Stringers for strength) with another 1/4" of UHMW bolted to it. The Grey boat in this clip has 1/2" Al bottom with another 1/2" of UHMW bolted to it.

                            Hey Roc Doc,

Great video looks to me like you had a great year. I enjoyed the sites and the animals, but to hang with a bunch of cute little blondes having the time of their life, that is a priceless family moment. In the beginning they said mommy was at work, my kids used to run when she came home to tell her about their day.
