People like that are giving everyone a bad name here in Newfoundland....Government is starting to post signs around swamp and bog areas that say no ATVs allowed. The quads are tearing up to much ground and leaving a large footprint. Alot of ground is being destroyed...Not everyone is doing it but enough "younger" people here have no respect.
Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.

        Agreed.
We will all be Banned, or resticted to designated Routes in the future.
Hopefully not in the near future.

That's the stuff that gets motorized vehicles restricted or banned. Amphibs could have driven on most of what I saw and leave two wet lines in the grass. Was hunting once a long trip on trail similar to the video. Someone else followed us and tore up the wet areas so bad we had a very difficult trip home. That trail is still a mess 10 years after. I find this tearing up the country irresponsible. Stay amphibious!

That can't be fun. That seems like a lot of work and them guys and their machines are just covered in mud. In an amphib the only thing that gets dirty is the bottom of the machine. Yea I'll stick with my Argo and tread lightly.

Wow that is some serious mud! You guys are so right, but being banned from riding like this may not be as far off as you might think. In the last 15 years down here this kind of activity has contributed in some part to land closures. We are not allowed to tear up pipelines, power lines, company roads, even if you are on a hunting lease, the company will penalize hunting clubs for road damage by mudding -- either quad or pickup. The EPA levies fines against the utility or timber company for excessive erosion caused by such activity. Our local National Forrest is now off limits to quads, except on designated trails, and tire size and tread type is STRICTLY enforced. All this got started because of folks doing just what these guys were doing, all in the name of just trying to have a good time. So, you might want to think about how to avoid losing your privileges by actively promoting the fact NOW that your machines don't tear up the land like these guys are doing, don't wait for the ball to start rolling, or you may one day find yourselves in the same (atv parks only) boat as us.

Old Post, but it's a reality here

Here in Minnesota it's already happened. Trails that used to be open years ago are now closed. It's been ruined by people with 4 wheelers tearing up the trails when its wet. I just went to a trail that I used to walk on and couldn't hardly walk on it because the 4 wheelers have dug deep trenches in the trail. Almost broke an ankle trying to walk out.

These are the best statements I have heard in support of running tracks since being a member of the forum. Far less damage to the terrain than when running tires.

about the only time I get stuck is when I have to follow one of these guys, I slip off in a rut and bottom out. The ruts they leave are really impressive. I doubt if they'd be allowed around here on public land.
