WOW! The rider is very lucky.

The truck/trailer driver was a typical moron... I've seen them before many times - starts in with a turn, then doesn't want to jostle the load, so comes to an almost stop and blocks the road for half a minute as they do 1% of walking speed.

Left turn idiots do that too, rapidly cut in front of you, then crawl over the driveway curb so as to not spill the wine glass sitting on their dash. (At least that's how they drive) Meanwhile, you're doing all you can to NOT T-bone their vehicle. Oh, and did I mention, their left turn started about 400 feet before the driveway they headed into - just so as to cut in front of you at a 75 degree angle across four lanes.

That stuff is the main reason I sold my Yamaha road/dirt combo bike. I started feeling I was on borrowed time every time I rode it around town.

I was riding my BMW motor cycle and had a truck pull broad side of me doing 60 mph on a country road. The guy in the truck didn't see me coming and pulled broad side of me as he entered the two lane road off of a dirt road. My senses went on high alert and the pucker factor increased 10 fold! I grabbed the front brakes HARD and managed to scrub off enough speed to barely miss the rear end of his truck as he continued to pull onto the country road. If I had'nt been paying attention to what was happening in front of me farther down the road, my day could have ended very badly!
