I have seen a few during my days turning wrenches.... The very first one that came into the garage I learned not to mess with them. I took the bolt out of the coil then when I went to lift the coil up the plug dropped right into the cylinder. Wasn't a good day for me....

5.4 V8. I don't ever plan on driving it fast. Just as a tow vehicle/family hauler when necessary. My wife still has her little orange honda element, and I have a company car with free gas that I'm not allowed to tow with it. I do carpool to some of the rides, and I bet we still take Marks dodge most of the time as it gets better gas mileage with the diesel.

What engine is in those? I ask as my Land Rover Discovery (2.5 td) is rated at 7840lbs. It would be a little sluggish with that weight behind it though. 4500 / 5000lbs is no problem to it, even up quite long steep climbs.

Thanks Joe! It's rated to pull 7700lbs, so just a little than 5 times more than the Honda. The title is being shipped down and should be here Wednesday. It would be nice if I could get it then, but I may have to wait till Friday to go pick it up.

Here is a pic. I looked very close. It was not in Miami, but up north of Tampa. I ran a carfax on it when I was there. Everything checked out just as the seller said. I actually bought the 5 pack of carafe just in case this one was no good.

On vacation, bought a new tow rig

Well my sister-in-law is getting married in Florida on Thursday. We rented a condo for the week down here, and as usual, I couldn't help but scanning Craigslist for deals. I happened upon am extremely clean, rust free, accident free, one owner Lincoln Navigator with 65,000 miles on it. It's an early nav, but I got a really good deal on it. I would have liked to find an Expedition or Suburban, but it had everything I needed, 7 passenger seating and a tow rating much greater than my wife's Honda Element. If I can find the right trailer, maybe I will only make one trip to Ashtabula this year.
Working...
