I know it's not a 6 wheeler but I thought some of you might find this interesting. They do a nice comparison of a gas quad and an EV quad which gives a good idea of the possibilities of electric power. They don't talk about cost or range unfortunately, so it's not a complete picture.

Hey Robbie: Do i sense a non believer?.... You are right on this one. That was not much of an "official test" since neither could ride. (Note man falling off E.V.) I agree that the ev would probably out do the gas unit, but that test was a Joke. It had no technical basis to it what so ever.

I don't remember anyone saying this was an empirical "test", merely a comparison. It's a TV show after all. Maybe it was all special effects anyway...

Unscientific as it was, the performance of the EV was still impressive. Battery technology has come a long, long way since the early 1990s when they sold kits to convert S10 pickups to battery power.

The EV conversion on the show was built specifically for the comparison, but they matched it up against a box-stock gas machine. If someone was to build a gas-powered machine just for the purpose of competing with the EV, the results may be different.....just a guess.
