  • Anybody have any experience with Kubota RTV 900 diesel?

Dad has a chance to buy a 2007 diesel with power steering and only 491 hours. It needs tires. The plastic pieces that shield the front drive shafts aren't even scratched. Does this sound like a good deal?
    Thanks for the info!

Yes, know them pretty well, I have two friends that have them. They are strong machines, well built, but not that fast, so if its a tractor-like utv, and you don't mind the goofy 3 speed hydrostat tranny, and rough ride (leaf springs) then they are a beast of a machine. I saw a 2007 model with 500 hours go for $7500 recently it had a 3000lb winch and was camo. I came across a 2006 RTV 1100 with air, heat, ps, hard top, 700 hours for $7900. Both were in average shape.

The new RTV 900 has independent suspension and a more refined 2 speed hydrostat, I priced one at the local Kubota dealer for $14,500 recently. The new machine drives and performs more like a Polaris Ranger (smooth ride) but has the same top speed of the old one, about 25mph.
I would prefer the Kubota over the Polaris but that's a personal choice, and I do prefer diesels from Kubota.

Well, we bought it. $5000, and all it needs is tires. Maybe not even those. The valve stems were broken off. The lady even threw in a 100 gallon diesel pump tank. Pretty stoked. Oh, and when I looked at the under carriage, there wasn't even any paint scraped off anywhere. Already had a coworker try to buy it! Now, time to put it to work.
