Unusual Request

This is an odd request. Long story but let me cut to the chase.

A young man (10 years old) in the small town near my fishing camp is suffering from brain cancer. He underwent his second surgery this week. Radiation is next for him.

He has a wish. He wished he could receive a card from every state in the union and beyond.

This is not a request for financial support. Just a letter or a card.

If you could take a few minutes and drop him a card or note with well wishes it would mean a lot to this child. I will be in your debt as well.

We hope he gets well soon! This week we will send out a card with pictures of some group trail rides. It looks like Kennan is about 4 hours away from our shop. He's welcome to come down and drive some machines if he would like.

Sol-This is the least I can do. It's plumb frightening to me that such a young person has brain cancer. The poor guy has been through more bad stuff in a short time than I have in my whole life. You never know what kind of hand you will be dealt when you get up in the morning.

Larry Here's what blew my mind about this. A 10 year old is in a fight for his life. I'm sure he dose not understand that concept. He is asked what he wants. What can make him feel better. He wants cards from far away places. Not Disney, not 6 Flags, Not a mini bike. A card from a far way place. Here's where I lose it. A card from a far away place that I hope he someday has a chance to go to.
