I'm a handgun enthusiast, I'll post a couple of my favorites.

My personal favorite, stainless steel Kimber MasterCardy Custom .45 1911. Shoots like a dream, love this thing but pricy to shoot.

My finances birthday gun, 22/45 Lite Ruger. Very reliable shooting, and very accurate. Many people put a holo sight on these and use them as a rodent-rifle. The fixed barrel makes it accurate at long ranges with only a .22 caliber.

The Smith and Wesson M&P Shield chambered in 9mm. This gun is one of the most popular concealed carry guns in the US, because it's built just for that.
A very reliable and solid gun, the quality of build is amazing. The only problem I have with it is the safety is a little tricky because it's so small. The manufacturer knew this, so the gun is available with and without a manual safety. I prefer the manual safety, but the trigger also has a safety on it, so this gun should not discharge without a finger on the trigger.

My 2nd favorite and most used gun, the EEA Sar Arms B6P Compact chambered in 9mm.
This is a Turkish design made in CoaCoa Beach, Florida. It's a replica of a CZ-75.
It's nearly identical. In fact it's so identical, the modern CZ-75 (SP101) holsters and mags fit it. Compact model has a 12 round double stacked mag, but some of us use a 17rd cz-75 mag at the range.
For the price, this thing is a beast of a gun. Out shooting some $600 guns and this thing retails for $350. Stable, solid, and the perfect economy gun for the occasional lead head.

What do you like about the xds 45? I've heard a lot of good things, may want to add one to my Arsenal.

it is light, thin and I can conceal carry wearing a t-shirt and you cant notice it. it feels very comfortable carrying it. plus it packs a huge punch if needed and has 5 rounds. if you need to carry and god forbid have to use it a .45 is the only way to go.

Yes I agree. My Kimber .45 is waaay too huge to hide, and the reason I chose 9mm for concealed carry is because it's cheaper to practice with, smaller to handle, and I can fit more rounds.
Technically no one likes getting shot, so if I can't pull 3 hits with a 12 round mag, then God help me.
But I can't argue the fact that the stopping power of the .45 is insane. The sheer momentum of the bullet will knock anyone over.

I hear a lot about the 9mm more round debate, IMO a heavier well placed round is much better than multiple lighter rounds. I own a couple of 9mm weapons also.The worst thing the military did was to replace the .45 with the 9mm. ask any soldier and they will tell you. same goes with the 5.56. it is a nice round but it just does not have the stopping power needed. more rounds down range does not amount to more kills. I will take a heavier round vs multiple anyday. Plus in a close situation you usually dont have to time to put more than 1 or 2 rounds out. and that to me is where the .45 will always come out on top. I am just a simple ex marine so what do I know...............lol.

here is another idea which I have not tried but a friend of mine does. He takes his .45 shells and drills the primer hole out to fit a .45 magnum primer, then he buys a stack of glue sticks from wally world for penny's as the are .45 dia and he cuts them to bullet size and presses them into the casing and the magnum primer is plenty powerful enough to shoot and he does target practice all day long costing only penny's a round. Just a thought

That's brilliant. I will look into that. Yeah because I don't get as much time at the range as if like to anymore, so usually when I got I'll be there for a couple hours and 500+ rounds from 3-4 different guns, then spend the next week cleaning gun them. I started saving all my brass so I can reload one day.

And I do agree the military switching to 9mm was a bad idea. I'm no vet but I'm pretty sure you want every round to count in a combat situation, without having to stress a target that's not supposed to still be active.

with reloading with a magnum primer only and no powder you can shoot at home and not waste time with going to a range. if your garage was long enough (mine is 60 feet long) inside shooting in the winter would be a non issue.

I've been handloading since the mid-eighties. Currently I own a Ruger 45LC Silverhawk and a new TC Contender G2 in 30-30AI (haven't shot it yet).
Due to a spine disease I've sold my rifles. Unable to shoot them anymore. Doesn't matter. I've been into handguns more anyway.

I'm an AK fan and have 7 different versions, just plain fun. The only real classic I have is an M1 carbine. Picking up a Benelli M4 on Monday. When the family and I head up to Maine on the weekends in the summer I bring a few firearms and we load the argo head out to a remote spot and blast away. It's the only time I can actually combine both hobbies.

I collect old bolt action Mausers. Have them all the way back to 1898. Still shoot it. Have a few modern semi's for the uncertainties of life.

I have not tried the glue sticks but I did reload a few with magnum primers and cork plugs about 1/4 inch thick. It worked real well in my revolvers, but kinda useless in a semi because it wouldn't cycle. Wouldn't even unlock the slide on my 1911, but that has a 45 Super conversion so it's pretty stiff. The great thing about this is even if you don't reload all you need is a depriming and priming tool. Load em up while your watching tv and shoot during commercial breaks!

Garrettepe, I go up to south western Maine right on the New Hampshire border. 200 yards from the property are the snowmobile trails and they lead to some Maine state park. endless riding once on the trails and the shooting spot is a natural sand bowl that crops up out of nowhere on the side of one of the trails. I wish I lived closer about a 2.5 to 3 hour trip up there from home depending on boston traffic.
The Argo is the perfect ride for up there, property is on the Ossipee river so get to use the argo in the water and fish. the argo also lets me bring others along that the atv's don't allow. I'm not as fast but I haul the gear and passengers while riding the trails.
