    hi, i have a honda hs828 snowblower and after snow-blowing for about 5-10 min it starts surging as if you were putting the throttle up and down little amounts. you can see the throttle arm moving back and forth as it does this. anyone know why its doing that. also if backfires abit when its doing this.

    trash in a carb jet, exhaust leak, snow or ice packed somewhere it shouldn't be inhibiting governer movement, would be the first few places i would look

      that's called "hunting" when the engine surges like that.culprit is most likely a dirty carb.

        I'd bet you find crystalized fuel in the bowl, give it a cleaning, heck change the plug too.

          the only thing i need help with is the float. how do i set that when the bowl is off?
