  • Tumbler Ridge, Murry River

I took the Family to Tumbler Ridge BC, for the music festival (Grizz Fest), and also brought my boat down to go for a run on the Murry River, to the falls. Very nice little boat ride, and some nice scenery along the way. Met some great guys and had lots of fun.
Here is a little look at the river and falls.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

The boat was Custom Built, It's 18'4" long, 6' wide, 6deg bottom with a 175hp Sportjet. Under the right conditions I can run through about 2 inches of water. However, turning in that little bit of water is next to impossible, Make sure you are pointed in the right direction before it gets that shallow
In this particular case, there was less than 2" of water. I went from 60kmh down to 0 in about 35 feet. My wife and two oldest daughters were not impressed with having to peal themselves off the inside of the windshield. No tears though, I thought that was a good sign.
OH ya, I also woke the baby up when I came skidding to a halt, she was BY FAR the most unimpressed with my parking spot.

RD, as you well know by now, sometimes females have a lack of humor in some of these situations. It was time to look at the scenery.

I was curious as to what may have been said about that parking spot, Wife seems like a trooper, but you probably at least got the look!

Loved it. Always enjoy your videos.

Actually, with all the activity in the "Patch", Welders are hard to come by. If you have a "Pressure Ticket", you could probably have a job tomorrow. I'm a Millwright/Operator/Jack of all trades. Welding is not a large part of my duties, but I could burn rods every week if I wanted to.

"Hey, do you know why Welders wear those funny little, short brimed hats??"

"It's so everyone knows we are welders, and talk sssslow to us"
