just shy of 40 and 22 of them spent doing 60-100 work weeks in nascar. 15 years on a pit crew was not kind on the body. still I was doing ok till a bout with lyme. disease kicked my ass 3 years ago. I swear it cut my energy by %25 and everything gets real sore real easy!

Racer that's pretty cool. What team did you work for, if you can say? If ya'll ran Competition Cams valve train components it was likely designed by a guy I grew up with. I should get him to make me a custom cam for the Hustler!

I know what ya mean, Jim. I stopped in to my local private gun club on Veteran's Day a few years back. Most of the members were Vets and traded war stories. The guy next to me pulled out an old black/white photo taken of him in Korea. "That was a long time ago and I don't have near as much spring in my step now. I had to sell my 2 story house cause I couldn't climb the stairs any longer." "IT'S NO FUN GETTING OLD, he said."

I never forgot him or that sage saying. BTW, I turned 68 last December. I'm not in perfect health but I can still lift my leg to get in my Max II without grunting. Perhaps from 19 years of practice doing the same on my Harley Fatboy. I pray I can endure until 77 like OldFarmer.

If I could find the emoticon with 2 beer mugs clanging together, I'd post it.

Wow this post is quickly becoming quite lengthy and I was just venting, I'm nearing 52 with a weathered body and bad joints and after a couple of joint and tendon operations I'm happy for what I have back though limited each time. We'll leave the back be for now as it's behaving today. As I'm sure some of you did I had ( and have ) knee issues ( some people call this my swagger) growing up that has since become a named disease and also grew way too fast one year leading to much of this, oh well what are you gonna do. I am also most certain many of us have come together here in the 6x6 community after years of abuse from either 2,3 or 4 wheel body abuse.

Happy just waking up everyday, again, better than not. Hope to reach the ages of my elders.

These liquefied weekends help with the rare painless , crap it's 2017 so discomfortless, days and dirtdobber if needed I can always hold the can two handed like a kid with a snow cone or a nice lady in winter with some hot cocoa and cold hands.

BTW the finger is swolled up good right now and limited bending after holding the wheel all day.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
          Joe Camel never does that.

NCT!!!!!! are you kidding me. That guy would say anything for a 6 pack! OK, I'm 65 and I still operate everything found on a construction site in addition to overseeing the job. I have put over 30000 miles on my company pickup in less than a year and average around 1000 hours of overtime every year. I do have some pains occasionally but for the most part feel pretty good. I have friends that are gone and some in terrible health but I think that since my entire working career has been spent outdoors, it has made a difference-------or maybe I'm just lucky.

Here's what I tell some people when they say "Glad to see you": "Thank you. I had much rather be seen than viewed"!

My dad always said, "Any one day above ground is better than two below!" One dear friend always says "Live life to its fullest. A hearse does not have a luggage rack!" I just got back from another week in the sugar woods and have a few days off as it is still early spring and the woods are in a forecast 6 day deep freeze. Turned 68 this past December. Life is what and how you live it. I finally know what I want to be when I grow up......YOUNGER!

might as well join in.... i'm 67 but still act and think like a kid. my mom was always on me saying '' all you want to do is play'' . she was right and it was a great affirmation. i'm still the same. maybe that's why johnboy va. is a good handle.
