  • Eagles Landing Holt FLA

Anybody been to this RV park or any suggestions in and around this area of Fla looking for a place to avoid winter next season.NCT

As it happens I live 5 miles from it. It's pretty rural and quiet, but only fifteen minutes from towns with all the conveniences. The river boat landing is just down the road if you have a boat and like to fish. Blackwater state forest has lots of scenic things and canoeing/kayaking is great. Gulf beaches are 45 minutes away. If you have any questions just ask.

Waiting? Waiting!!!! You have to remember-I'm not Canadian. I don't go indoors on September 1 and live a life of leisure till May 1 after it warms up to freezing and your summer begins. Oh yea, don't forget the Canucks that come down here and lead a life of leisure. I had to work today to help insure your countrymen down here live a life free of floods.
Now on to your questions. Yes the Eagles Landing is a very nice RV park. I drive by it frequently and it's always full and looks nice and well kept.

Blackwater State Forest has some extensive horse trails. They also have a campground for horse people at the trail head. Why the Hell would you want to put them in my front yard when I have a pasture in the back? My Belgian Draft Horse may frown on the company though, unless they let her be boss.

Anyway, Ted or myself will be glad to help you in any way we can. I may have to turn some of that oil fixing to head this way through the Dakota pipeline around so you'll have fuel to get here.

Thanks Guys sounds promising we are starting rather early to put together a plan before the ice age of 17 moves in,and gives us a chance to check the area out for a possible winter home buy, that is if LB can divert all the excess runoff from our melting glaciers,we will be further researching Blackwater State forest and facility's nearby may have more questions in the future. Thanks NCT

I just talked to Ted and discovered we are off on alternate weekends. This is good because I'm beginning to think you guys might be a real handful and we might need a break from teaching you guys how to speak and understand Southern, eat chick'n and dumplin's and raw oysters and such. I guess what I'm trying to say is you will now have a good ol' boy on call at all times.
                  Take care

The Misses spent some of her early life in the Daytona region and the Lone Star State says her worst food experiences were grits and cornbread,I on the other hand spent time in central Fl chowing down on chicken/ribs and sweet potato pie,but one of my past offshore favorites was steak and kidney pie yum yum or a good feed of haggis so Iam not sure that chicken & dumplins would slow me down much pass the biscuits and gravy please.NCT

Good for her-she's at least halfway to being one of us! She probably didn't have cheese grits and JalapeƱo and cheese in her cornbread. I have no idea what a kidney pie is. When I was in Africa the Scottish engineers befriended me because of my last name. They all promised to bring back some Haggis after a trip home. I had no idea what it was. I looked it up on the net and was so horrified what it was that I think that was the main reason I came back to the US.
