our town York harbour has been flooded severely due to significant rainfall and high temps melting snow. there is only 1 road to and from corner brook where we all get out groceries and other stuff. rattler brook has been flooded due to that rain and snow melt and has washed away the road on Sunday. since then we have all been running low on supplies like fuel, food etc. men of the community have made several runs to corner brook in fishing boats to deliver supplies to our town. there has been 2 helicopters running daily to and from York harbour to deliver supplies and patients who are on dialysis or have doctors appointments! out town mayors have been doing a wonderful job of keeping everyone up to date on when the road will be repaired and on schedules of the helicopters. no one has been hurt or injured we are all doing fine.ETA of the road is sometime this evening they say.will keep u posted!

Curtis, sorry to hear about the flood damage, but can whole heartedly understand the issues. After tropical storm IRENE hit our area back in 2011, there were many communities that were land locked for many days while roads and bridges were rebuilt. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Irene#Vermont https://insideclimatenews.org/news/3...climate-change Hopefully your emergency services and others can keep needed supplies and medical help coming to those in need.

Not all is lost; you still have electricity and internet connection.

Curious who foots the bill for all those helo shuttle flights?

Was ice a factor or simply debris?

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.

Our local NWS station caught and posted this time lapse imagery of the Ausable River in NY last week, Jan 12 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrgqkZRNQ0U
