Since this thread is entitled toys, I've had a few "Morphibian" amphibious R/C cars for the past year and they are a blast. They're meant for small kids but, they operate like a skid-steer atv (and kinda look like a scrambler gotcha).
The Morphibian does pretty well in water - it does get a small amount in it if you get into choppy water but, it has screws to remove a drain plate. the electronics are pretty much sealed up but, I would still be a little careful taking it into a lake or other similar body of water.
This is what REB181 & I did the first weekend of Oct. It's the annual Crown King run that I've been doing for the last 25yrs. It's an overnight ride that starts in the desert and ends up in the pine trees at 7000ft.
Looks like you had fun! I built tons of dune buggy's, sand rails, and baja's in the mid 90's. I'm still not quite sure what people in SC do with them????
I always wanted to build a 2300cc baja, and give the Baja 1000 a try!

Here's a photo of my other offroad toy. It's a 1943 Cletrac MG-1 M2 high speed tractor. These were used around the bomber planes during WWII. It has rubber tracks and has a top speed of 22mph. Fun to drive!
