The only limiting factor for me (other than money) was that I couldn't really rent any helicopters at least not close to where I live and I couldn't afford to buy one. Even if I could I don't know that I would want the maintenance / insurance costs.
Have you had other helicopters? What did you train on?

I'm not a pilot. I was a search & rescue aircrewman in th USN. I have 3800 hrs. in Hueys & Bell Rangers. I was VERY upset, when I was discharged & found out NOT 1 minute of my flight time counted for a license!! (after all, I was a low-life enlisted aircrew, even though I had 1100 hours documented as "stick-time", still no soap with license!?!)

Quite a few Aviators in Here
I'm not surprised, but we do have our share of pilots in here. I've found that aviators are usually the tinkering type of person. And these machines we play with definitely require their share of tinkering.
Micmac is the heaviest duty aviator to chime in. He flys a Falcon 900EX Easy for a living, which is in a "Rolls Royce" class of business aircraft, right up there with the Gulfstream. Here's a link to a picture of a Falcon like the one he flies http://www.globalair.com/classifieds...EX_sn174_e.JPG

Here are some pictures of my latest project at work. It's an AS350 or A-Star in for an overhaul/refurbishment. The picture on the right is a before picture. It's not quite done yet!

Aircraft/Pilot
Have worked on F-4 phantoms, F-5s and T38s back in the 60s. Have flown J3s, 150s, 172s,182s, cherokee 6, navaho twin. Have owned an ercoupe, Piper tri pacer and cherokee 140. Have not flown in a number of years but enjoyed every minute of it while I did it. Am content to fly Radio control aircraft and helicopters today. Have a great day and where ever we go we Argo.
regards
Ken

By the way, I would venture a guess that someone in the hanger is perhaps a Steelers fan?
There's 4 or 5 of us assigned to it. We have a 4 month turn around schedule as long as we get the parts we order. Aviation is a strange place to work.
I'm not a sports fan but I'm the minority around here in Steeler country.
