I have found out the hard way that it is not good to go out into the swamp with only one machine. I was considering buying another AATV but decided instead to up grade my quad. The rear tracks are 42" on the ground, 12 1/2 " wide with 1.118 inch cleats. The front track puts 40" on the ground 11 1/2 inches wide. The tracks lower the gearing about 30% and raise the machine about three inches. I've already had this thing in the woods and it pulls like a tractor and goes over or through anything you put in it's way. Should be able to follow the max any where except deep water. This thing is truley bad to the bone!

Aren't those called mattracks? I have seen them in vids, and they are really something. But don't try them in deep soup, because they float like a rock. Saw a guy with them at the mud nationals in the deep stuff and he went down faster than a shot on dollar night. But for EVERYTHING else they are AWSOME to the point of being unstopable. I think you will like them a lot as long as you stay within their use parameters.DESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION

WOW
Dan you never stop with the surprises. That is a awesome looking ride. You will have to bring that thing to the Busco ride next time. Would love to take it for a spin looks like a lot of fun to be Quad.
LewisLife should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

[QUOTE=mightymaxIV;38926]From what I have seen the work everywhere except deep watery mud.(I won't go in water over 24") They are most excellent for fallen timber and mud without water. (They stay on top of the mud). I drove them through a shallow area of my pond and they went through without a problem. A quad with tires would have sunk to the bottom. Problem is if you do get stuck your gonna need a helicopter to get you out! I think the Max will beat them in everything except mud w/o water and crawling over fallen trees. Anyway I now have a swamp companion.
Lots of fallen logs where I ride, thanks to Rita, Ike, and some friendly beavers. At 24" water depth that thing would follow my amphib through nearly everything that I ride in. I may have to price a set for my quad, 'cause a retriever vehicle is at times indespensible. How much did they increase your ground clearance? Got any vids yet, seen a lot of promo's over time but haven't seen any owner action yet. Probably 'cause I haven't looked for them. Anyway I'm happy for you, maybe a little envious...ok ok I'll admit it I'm jealous.LOLDESTRUCTION is just a couple of vowels down the street from DISTRACTION

mightymaxIV ,
That tracked atv of yours looks awesome!Driving through a football length feild of pudding mud would,nt be a problem with an atv set up like yours now. Your tracked atv might even give the amphibs a run for their money in some of the places at Busco Beach.
I also watched the video that you posted, and its impressive what a quad with tracks will go through

Track report
The tracks raised my machine somewhere between 2 1/2 and 3 inches. Here's my first report. Took the machine out into an area that is about a five on a scale of ten with some bad seven spots. (NO VIDEO) Started out really slow trying to figure out what the machine could do. There is a learning curve with the machine and I have just started. This thing is awsome in soft mud. Started in FWD low range and as I got my confidence up started going through in high range and then high range two wheel drive. This thing went though a lot of bad mud in 2WD high range. The tracks lower the gearing about 30% so the machine had power right now for every situation. The area I was in was rough!! Pot holes, logs sticks, grass, mud , swamp. You could run at 10 mph though rough stuff that would have thrown you off with tires because the tracks run over all the small bumps and logs that a wheel would fall in. This thing will climb anything and that includes piles of wood chips and logs that would stick a wheeled vehicle. Did all the chip piles in 2wd with remarkable stability going up and down. (I WOULDN'T EVEN TRY IT WITH WHEELS!)Rides like a quad till you slow down then you have to fight the steering. DO NOT TRY TO GO AROUND A CORNER LIKE A SPORT QUAD! THE FRONT TRACKS WILL GRAB, LOCK AND GO LEFT OR RIGHT! GOTTA REMEBER YOU HAVE TRACKS. BAD PART- WILL GO OVER ANY THING BUT IF YOU GET JUST THE RIGHT SIZED LOG BETWEEN THE TRACKS YOU ARE IN TROUBLE. HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I FIRST STARTED. CARRY AND AXE JUST IN CASE, BECAUSE IT IS HARD TO WALK OFF ONCE THE LOG IS BETWEEN TRACKS. fUN MACHINE BUT HAS IT'S LIMTATIONS. THE MAX WOULD EAT IT ALIVE IN CERTAIN CONDITIONS BUT IT OUT PERFORMS THE MAX IN OTHER AREAS. ROCK DOC THIS MACHINE WOULD BE A BLAST IN THE MUD YOU HAVE UP THERE WITHOUT WATER. FOR THOSE CONDITIONS THIS MACHINE IS HAD TO BEAT.
